Clogged Toilets
If your toilet clogs, avoid the temptation to flush it repeatedly, as this can worsen the problem and risk overflow. Instead, use a plunger to create a strong seal around the drain and perform gentle, consistent plunging motions.
Sink & Shower Clogs
If your sink or shower isn't draining properly, there may be debris blocking the drain. You can typically fish out surface-level debris using a cleaning tool available for a few dollars at local hardware stores.
For deeper clogs, you can try a homemade solution. Pour about half a cup of baking soda down the drain, quickly followed by the same amount of vinegar. This will create a chemical reaction that aids in loosening any debris. Allow it to sit for an hour before flushing it with hot water.
If you want to try a chemical drain cleaner, please do so sparingly, as overuse of such products can damage the plumbing system.
